TAYONG DALAWA and MAY BUKAS PA ENDING (From the original script)
Ok, I’ve been so harsh on my remarks about Filipino movies. Especially, those who are inspired by Hollywood movies and those same-old-same romantic comedies. But i found myself liking the TV series which were obviously – yet uncredited – inspired by foreign movies.
Kim Chui and Gerald Anderson’s Sana Maulit Muli is somewhat familiar with Jennifer Love Hewitt’s If Only. Love, death.. Second chance.
Blood and Chocolate i think is the inspiration of Lobo (Piolo Pascual and Angel Locsin).
Meanwhile, the first teaser of ‘MAY BUKAS PA’ is ‘MARCELINO. It gave the inspiration away, obviously from the Spanish classic ‘MARCELINO PAN Y VINO. Though they changed the miracle boy’s name to Santino. I admire this story since i was a child. ABS-CBN aired it’s animated version and got me crying at the end. Unlike the other TV series, i saw the original author’s name on the credit. And i was wishing that ABS would stick to it’s original inspirational-tear-jerker ending. That would leave Santino’s mark to the audience memorable and profoundly moving.
SPOILER!
If they’ll follow the original story… Santino will die at the end! Jesus (or in this case.. BRO) would ask him what would make him happy.
‘I want to see my mother
and yours, after wards.
You’ll shed rivers of tear after Jesus grant his wish by saying ‘Go to sleep’.
I want this ending so badly! So please, kill Santino in the end…
Enough of Santino. Next one is really the reason why I’m writing this. After seeing the May 01 episode of ‘TAYONG DALAWA’, i was really amazed! I’m a fan of the series since day one, and i really admire how they expand the story. I mean, if i got this right.. The plot is similar to ‘PEARL HARBOR’ (Josh Harnett, Ben Affleck). Friendship, brotherhood, love, war, military. But, the back-story of each character is creative enough that you could forget it’s similarity to Pearl ‘fucking’ Harbor. And in my case, forget my strong dislike to Jake ‘fucking’ Cuenca.
ANOTHER SPOILER!
If this if Pearl Harbor… Audrey will get pregnant, of course Jay-R is the father. But the sad (yet exciting..ow) part is, Jay-R will die for the sake of the innocent people’s safety in a war. Dave will take Jay-R’s responsibility (as what Jay-R wants) and will take good care of Audrey and his child.
Dying is the newest trend of Philippine series’ ending, huh? Well, they could think of a better ending, but for me, the original will always be the best.
I heard that both May Bukas Pa and Tayong Dalawa will be aired in Malaysia, Indonesia and even in Europe soon.
And for the first time… I’m proud to be a Filipino!

obviously, you don’t have enough exposure to other cultures. due to the nature of my job, i travel alot and encounter different people from different culture. have stayed with their families long enough to know them and say in your face that YOU ARE FSCKING WRONG about the Filipino movies.
all movies worldwide are based on 99% US made or western stories. so sad you don’t know that. so stop bitching about our culture. get real, get out, get a life!

just watched the tayong dalawa ending and it’s all fucked up! there’s another david garcia! deym… i hope they make a 2 hour telesine or something that will start where the tv series took off because the cliffhanger ending is so fucked up.

there’s this thing called inculturation.. i think hindi bagay sa Pinas na patayin si Santino.. kasi hope ang nirerepresent niya.. so sana hindi siya mamatay. i agree the one with marcelino was a tear-jerker.. pero a child’s death would be somewhat shocking to see in Philippine TV, right? =D

may bukas pa is a kind of abomination, why do they call “Bro” to Jesus? do they know that giving other name to our God is a kind of abomination? “Bro” is a slang word for Brother, does the our God is our Brother? HE is our FATHER not Brother. come to think of it.

i do not think its an abomination… Jesus is everything all rolled into one. He’s our father, brother, friend. So i dont think it really matters that much whether we call Him, Bro, Abba, Daddy, Lord, as long as we do so with the respect and reverence that is entailed for Him.

Bro is actually correct…Jesus is our “brother ” not our father. God the Father is our Father and he is correctly called Papa God. Our parish priest says that it is wrong to call Jesus, Papa Jesus.

i think the cliffhanger for tayong dalawa was a bit stupid! If david anthony garcia jnr was an0ther son of david garcia snr (and his m0ther emma garcia lo0ks n0thing like a filipina) why does the s0n l0ok like he’s half filipino? Weird!
